Hakeem Seriki, better known to the world as Chamillionaire; is a Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum hip-hop artist whose biggest hit to date is the street cruisin’ anthem, Ridin’. It’s appropriate that that’s the name of his big hit because the guy owns both an auto-dealer (Fly Rides) and a tour bus company. Also, like most rappers, Chamillinaire blows exorbitant amounts of money on his motor pool, but unlike most rappers; when he rides, it’s in something a little cooler than a cookie cutter rich-guy-mobile. He has a pretty impressive collection of classic-ish rides, but the coolest one is probably his 1967 Plymouth Fury. Why is it so cool? A couple of reasons; one, it looks like something Shaft would have driven; two, it led me to finding the extremely racist commercial embedded below. Yes folks, that’s a Mexican guy…wearing a poncho and big hat…riding a donkey…and he has a dirt-stache. I’m not even mildly politically correct, but wow, that’s so racist I’m almost impressed. Thanks Chamillionaire, without you, I would have had no idea that Plymouth was so anti-Central American in the 1960s.
