Roy Halladay’s Old Hot Rod

Some people are just cooler than you; it’s a fact we all have to face at some point folks. Roy Halladay is one of those people. The two-time Cy Young Award winner from the Philadelphia Phillies showed up to spring training recently in a hot rod that he supposedly built himself. He rolled in on what appear to be 22s in his sleek roadster, and had a well-deserved smile on his face. We can’t say for sure how much it cost him to build his new ride, but we’re going to say it was at least $50 thousand. Rebuilding cars is a hobby for Halladay, who has consistently been one of the most dominant pitchers in Major League Baseball over the last decade.We have a similar hobby, but ours involves legos…and we usually lose the instructions and end up building a multi-colored hut. So yeah, we’re pretty much running in the same circles as Roy these days.

Paris Hilton Has A Nice New Car, But She’s Still Annoying

Oh look, Paris Hilton has a new Ferrari. What’s that you say? She bought it as a gift to herself? Wow, that’s not annoying at all! So there she is, still famous for some reason, and driving around Los Angeles in a $280 thousand car. On the bright side, the people that took these recent photos said that the bird-esqeu Simple Life star had a lot of trouble sliding out of her ride, and ended up looking pretty ridiculous in the process; that makes us all really happy. On the bright side, she’s auctioning off her old car for charity, so maybe she’s finally growing up.

King Felix’s Range Rover

In his short time in Major League Baseball, Seattle Mariners’ ace pitcher Felix Hernandez has already made a big mark on the league; winning a Cy Young Award and being named to two All-Star teams. He’s also made his mark on the auto-world by pulling one of the flashiest Range Rover custom jobs in recent memory. Done at MC Customs in Miami, the 100+ thousand dollar SUV got itseld a fire engine red paint job, custom 24 inch wheels with a matching paint job, a custom grill, custom headlights, custom interior work, custom head-rests (with “King Felix” embroidery”), and a top of the line sound system. It’s a bit too flashy for our tastes,but it’s a really nice ride none-the-less, and doesn’t cross the line into tacky territory. As Hernandez continues to be strong off the mound, look for him to spend even more on custom cars in the future.

Dwight Howard’s Black Porsche

Dwight Howard is one of the premiere players in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and his car kind of shows it. On price tage alone (it cost him between $150 and $200 thousand), Howard’s all black Porsche Panamera is a ride worthy of an NBA superstar. However, we would never expect to see a man of Dwight Howard’s skyscraper-esque tallness hop out of the little piece of luxury. Never-the-less, the Porsche Panamera is Howard’s car of choice, as it’s a larger model of Porsche and apparently roomie enough to fit the big man; he treats it well too, adorning it with 22″ Savini Mono SM3 wheels, and red Brembo brakes.

Amber Heard’s Mint ’68 Mustang

Did you see Drive Angry? Don’t worry, most people didn’t, but we did (it’s got “drive” in the title, if we didn’t see it we’d have to fire ourselves), and we couldn’t help but notice how comfortable Amber Heard looked behind the wheel of all those muscle cars. Well as it turns out, she was so comfy because she’s used to driving them in real life. A self professed “lover of muscle cars”, the star of The Rum Diary and The Playboy Club used to drive both a ’67 Mercedes and a ’62 Checker Cab, but these days finds herself behind the wheel of a mint condition ’68 Ford Mustang. We know what you’re thinking, but she doesn’t just drive it to events or in front of paparazzi, she drives it as her everyday vehicle, so she’s for real. With stunning good looks, a boat load of talent, and an awesome taste in cars, it’s no wonder guys all over the world fawn over her; but sorry gents, she’s both taken, and a lesbian (womp, womp, wommmmpppp).

Jonah Hill’s Audi S5

Judging by the banner picture, it looks like Jonah Hill, star of Superbad, 21 Jump Street, The Sitter, and Moneyball, is part of the long list of celebrities who prefer to buy their rides from Audi. The sleek, black S5 coupe cost him somewhere around $90,000, but with their reputation for both speed and safety, Audis are usually worth their high price tag. The car fits in with Hill’s new image; he’s recently lost at least 40lbs and appears to be trying to leave his old “chubby goofball” persona behind. We don’t exactly expect to see him playing James Bond, or even James Bond’s neurotic sidekick any time soon, but he looks great and so does his car, so more power to him.
